Serge Celestin, M.D.

Dr. Celestin was born and raised in Cap-Haitian, Haiti. He attended the College Notre Dame Perpetual Secours for 14 years and graduated from this Catholic school with a Baccalaureate Part I and II. Soon afterward, Dr. Celestin entered the State University of Haiti in Port-au-Prince where he earned his M.D. degree. He was granted his license to practice medicine after completing his social service in St. Jean Hospital in Limbe Cap Haitian.

Still eager to learn, Dr. Celestin moved to New York City where he attended Long Island University and earned a Masters degree in Community Health. He then moved on and completed his internship in Internal Medicine and his 3 year residency in General Psychiatry at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital in the Bronx, New York. During his training, Dr. Celestin developed a particular interest in Geriatrics which lead him to a one year fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at Long Island Jewish Hospital in Glen Oaks, N.Y.

Dr. Celestin moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where he held the position of Assistant Medical Director of Geriatric Services at the Methodist Behavioral Hospital. He advanced to Medical Director of Geriatric Services one year later. Dr. Celestin's career consisted of a combination of his private practice and his hospital work.

During Dr. Celestin's 10 years in New Orleans he also served as Medical Director of North Shore Psychiatric Hospital in Slidell, and Community Hospital in uptown New Orleans.

Dr. Celestin's career took a dramatic turn with Hurricane Katrina in 2005. New Orleans was devastated and the City of New Orleans was "closed until further notice."

Dr. Celestin moved to South Florida and joined the practice of Linda Berlin, Psy.D. and Psychological Associates where he treats patients 17 years old and above through geriatrics. In addition, Dr. Celestin holds certification in Outpatient Detoxification with Suboxone.
