Audrey Baumeister, Ph.D.

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Audrey Baumeister, Ph.D. specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety disorders among children, adolescents and adults.

Dr. Baumeister attended the University of Florida (UF) for her undergraduate studies where she participated in research and authored publications under the Department of Psychiatry, which has specialized in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) for over twenty years. As a doctoral student at Louisiana State University (LSU) her specializations included parent training, assessment and treatment related to Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Learning Disabilities, as well as group counseling for teens.

Dr. Baumeister's master's thesis and dissertation were funded by a grant from the National Institute of Mental Health, and examined the effects of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder on children affected by Hurricane Katrina. While attending LSU, Dr. Baumeister also authored publications regarding the assessment and treatment of neuropsychological disorders. Following graduate school, she returned to UF for an internship where she conducted neuropsychological assessments of children and adults, and provided parent training as well as therapy to children and adults, including those with various medical illnesses such as type 1 diabetes and cystic fybrosis. Dr. Baumeister remained with UF's Department of Psychiatry as a postdoctoral associate where she provided therapy, as well as consultation to physicians regarding the psychological health of their patients. She also worked with UF's intensive OCD program. Dr. Baumeister subsequently worked at NeuroBehavioral Insititute, in Weston, Florida, continuing her work in the the areas of anxiety disorders and parent training. She is currently a member of the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), as well as the Anxiety and Depressional Association of America (ADAA).
